Browser Shortcuts (Part 1 of 2)
Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 03:00PM
Here are a couple of navigation shortcuts that can make browsing easier no matter what browser you choose. I tried each one with Firefox, Iceweasel, Epiphany, Opera, and IE *cough*.
Full Screen Mode
Press F11 to change to full screen view. This comes in handy especially when you're viewing videos or presentations. Pressing F11 again reverts you back to your normal view. Think of F11 as a corrupt spelling of 'Full” minus the 'u' to easily remember the key.
Previous and Next Page
To go back to a previous page or go forward to a site you've visited already, simply press ALT LEFT ARROW (Move Backward) and ALT RIGHT ARROW (Move Forward). You can press them multiple times to go back to the desired page. Pressing ALT LEFT ARROW three times for example will move you back 3 pages.
Autofill
While typing a URL at the address bar, you can just type in the address and press CTRL ENTER to have the browser fill up the 'http://' and the '.com'. Of course, this only work on sites that end with a '.com'
As an example, key in AntonioBuena and then press CTRL ENTER

Tomorrow, I'll be discussing ways of maximizing the tab functions.
